Life in the woods

The title of this blog comes from a hippie song that was sung around the campfire the other night, although it turns out that I actually misheard the lyrics - they're supposed to be "wood, stone, feather and bone" (see: http://www.amazon.com/Wood-Stone-Feather-and-Bone/dp/B001NW4I7U).

I haven't been the best photographer - I only take pictures when there's nothing better to do - so these aren't the most exciting shots, but hopefully they can give some idea of what life is like out here. Also, blogspot won't let me rotate photos, so you'll have to do some head-tilting.

Trailer livin' (it's called the Hornet - that's what's written on the side)
David makes his morning tea
The view from the trailer - green pasture where three cows graze, including Vera, who I now milk weekly
Iceberg Point at the South end of the island - those are the Olympics
Picnic lunch and watercolors
Card that I made Madeline at Iceberg
Lil' kittens at the house where I babysit
Beach (Odlin State Park) where I took the boys to play. That's Matteus in the brown shirt (one of the twins).

The path to my grove
My own kitchen!
Inside of the wall tent
Looking out
Everything on Lopez smells like this
Skulls in the shower
